Preventive maintenance kits pack the interval’s parts before the machine is opened. Hunting a seal while oil is draining is not a method.
Kit rules
One kit, one asset family, labeled with the interval. No extra souvenirs “while we are ordering.”
Ordering
- Send asset list and PM interval.
- Technicians review the bill of materials.
- Kits arrive before the scheduled week.
After the job
Unused items go back to stock or are written off. A kit that is always short one piece means the BOM or the SOP drifted.
